The Avalanche would go into the playoffs as favorites but lose to the Red Wings in the Western Conference Finals. The 2000-01 season was also a notable season in Roy’s Avalanche career as he would help the Avalanche to their second ever Stanley Cup Title (his fourth) while winning the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP.
