The Upper Deck Company is excited to announce the release of its 2009-2010 Series One Hockey card set. The 250-card collection features the top NHL players as well as the first rookie cards from this years freshman class. As always, the Young Guns Rookie Cards subset collection with standouts including John Tavares, Victor Hedman and Matt Duchene remains the sets key driver.
With our UD Series One Hockey release, Upper Deck provides collectors with their first opportunity to accumulate this years top rookies, said Josh Zusman, Upper Decks Hockey brand manager. We are especially proud of the fact that we were able to average six Young Guns rookie cards per box, essentially giving every collector a chance to pull their sleeper rookie for the season. Besides that, we have assembled the most popular hockey players, rookies and stars alike, all into this much-anticipated, single set.
Beyond spotlighting the top rookies from this years freshman class, Upper Deck has included plenty of insert bells and whistles. Averaging two game jersey memorabilia cards per box, Upper Decks 2009-10 Series One Hockey set has something for every level of NHL fan. In addition, each box averages two All-World Team cards which are sure to drive value for all collectors!
The most coveted inserts seeded within the set are the Big Playmakers oversized swatch jersey cards, which feature current NHL stars like Alexander Ovechkin, Cam Neely, Carey Price, Vincent Lecavalier and Sidney Crosby. Another coveted insert is the Clearly Canadian die-cut acetate cards, which average one per case and features such legends as Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux.
In order to cover the entire global ice rink, Upper Deck has also included the All-World Team inserts, hitting two per box with short-prints falling on average two or three per case! Some of the players included in these inserts are Martin Brodeur, Marian Hossa and Eric Staal!
Upper Decks 2009-10 Series One Hockey release boasts eight cards per pack and 24 packs per box. The product is currently in stores.
