Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles board game smashes $250k Kickstarter goal

The game from IDW Publishing has secured almost double its Kickstarter goal, with $492,612 pledged by fans.
A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles board game based on the original comic book series has almost doubled its goal on Kickstarter.
Created by the Californian comic book publisher and entertainment company, IDW Publishing the title, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shadows of the Past hit the crowdfunding platform late last year with e aim of raising $250,000.
With eight days of the project still remaining, the title appears to have secured its future having reached $492,612 from 3,764 backer via the platform.
Designed for two to five players, the game encourages fans to work through a series of missions to save (or conquer) New York and is based on IDW�s ongoing comic book universe.
�Designed by the legendary Kevin Wilson (the man behind Descent and Arkham Horror) with input from Kevin Eastman and IDW� TMNT creative team, the game features various mechanics and gameplay,� read a statement from IDW.
The game features various miniatures, including the four Turtles, Shredder and a series of 18 foot soldiers, as well as hero sheets, villain sheets and four adventure comics.
